I LIVE and create, in a cotswold village in the West Midlands, UK. I enjoy an excuse to go to London and like to draw and grow veg in the garden when the weather is fine.
STARTING MY CAREER in Homeware at British Home Stores (BHS), where I worked for 8 years. A typical season would see me compiling trend reports, designing prints, creating seasonal themes and colour palettes, attending product meetings, managing the team part-time and trips to Paris for trade shows. Working in all areas, from bedding to dinnerware, I enjoyed designing for a wide range of pattern on product types.
DECIDING TO GO FREELANCE, and working from home meant being able to move away from London and explore wider design opportunities such as; book illustration, kidswear design and commissioned pieces, while still enjoying working on Homeware. I enjoy a slower pace of life, making my own hours and doing what I love - creating pattern and illustration.
I ENJOY yoga, reading, and a good murder mystery on the telly. I like sporadically moving furniture around and painting walls or the odd table/chair with beautiful hues. I might run up the odd cushion or curtains on the sewing machine and enjoy embroidery too. I can easily spend a whole weekend in the garden pottering around, painting pictures and contemplating life and the cosmos.
